Life lessons with Amanda: lesson one

Maybe I’ll do this as I grow and learn new things about life. Maybe this will be the first and last lesson I try to give, I know in most cases people have to learn for themselves.

Anyway, lately I talk about God’s timing alot. That’s because through the last few years I’ve come to realize that God has a plan for our lives and when things seem really bad, knowing that it’s in preparation for something better is what has gotten me through it.

I am by no means a perfect christian and I’m not here to preach to anyone. I just want to tell people who think right now their life can’t possibly get worse that, well, first off, it can. Don’t tempt it. Secondly, and mainly, it WILL get better!

Maybe you aren’t a believer but thats just what helps me trust that there will always be better days ahead. The belief that there’s a higher power out there looking out for me. Maybe for you its something else but I hope you find something that gives you hope. It can be easy to forget what good days felt like when things seem really bad.

I wont get specific or go into detail but so far in my life I can honestly say that any bad thing I went through, or any time I felt like I was experiencing loss or challenges, something better has come out of it or I can look back and see that it was a blessing in disguise. (Whats that song about unanswered prayers?)

If you find yourself down because you aren’t exactly where you want to be or thought you’d be in life right now, I urge you to take a look around and ask yourself why? Maybe you lost a friend but when you find true friends you’ll realize they had been bringing you down all that time. If your relationship ended maybe it’s because there’s someone better for you still out there. Be excited, because nothing compares to when you find them. If you didn’t get that out of town dream job maybe it’s okay because you’ll cherish a few more memories with a family member who won’t be around forever. If you constantly look for the bad in life, you’ll find it, but if you look for the good, you’ll find that too. It gets better, I promise.
